Surf Snowdonia

Utilising the site of an old disused Aluminium factory on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, Surf Snowdonia was designed to offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy the thrills of surfing within a fresh water lagoon the size of 6 football pitches.

You don’t have to wait for nature to provide the perfect wave as the lagoon is equipped with a unique wave-generating machine which creates a powerful, head-high wave that rises at the centre of the lagoon, peels perfectly for more than 150 metres, and dissipates softly as it hits the shore.

Surf Snowdonia Adventure Parc provides plenty to do for those who are not so keen on trying their hand at surfing, and with shops, restaurant, café and camping facilities all on site, there is something to suit all tastes.

Naturally, with a venture such as this, there are requirements to access vital equipment for maintenance purposes, and BILCO was the obvious choice due to the robust, high quality, manufacture of their access hatches.

The Bilco E-50T Roof Access Hatch was chosen as the ideal solution for the access requirements of the centre - its 915mm x 915mm internal opening is ideal to allow maintenance personnel to get to roof-top equipment easily and safely. The compression springs on the E-50T allow easy, one-handed operation of the hatch while the automatic hold-open arm will prevent it closing unintentionally – even in the high wind conditions that might be encountered in Snowdonia!
